       Has he met her before? Is that why she seems to have an opinion on him already? It’s a thought that’s quickly discarded he’d definitely remember meeting her before although the question of the reasoning behind such a chilly response still hangs in the air. Her flippant dismissal somehow has him doing the opposite of what’s intended, filling him with the need to please her. The papers in his hand are long forgotten, neglecting to return them in the midst of his newest mission to learn her name. ❛True but that means I’d have to wait a whole ‘nother year to see you again.❜ Cue a cheeky grin although he’s fairly sure that joke won’t earn him a fan in her either. ❛Although next time I’m hoping there’s less of the whole ‘embarrassing myself’ thing involved. It’s horrible for my pride, really.❜

      Down on the ground, scrounging for her textbook everything he said seemed less and less charming. His grating attempts at humor were coupled with the flash of green in the corner of her eye as she avoided looking him dead on for she’d been warned Slytherins were no good for the likes of mudbloods. At the mention of his pride she bit back her annoyance with a quiet ‘mmmhmmm’ so he knew she was listening which might have been worse then leaving it to hang in the tense air between them. Slowly would she stand up giving one last sweeping look before accidentally making eye contact with the chatterbox who’d started it all. It only lasted a few seconds before her gaze dropped again, “I have to go now.” And although she was cold it was hard for her to leave banter unattended to even as she brushed past him in a hurry that she had not been in before meeting him. “See you next year.”
